Follow your heart?
Impulses appear authentic because they are natural. Virtues, on the other hand, often oppose nature and therefore may seem artificial. But why are aspirations of virtue deemed less authentic than natural impulses simply because one is already possessed emotionally, while the other is an awareness of conscience to which to attain? Are the things no one would pay for of more value than those that have a price? If natural impulses are temporal and principles eternal, which is truly more real?
All it takes
A leader who can offer promises and provide provisions will have followers; truth is irrelevant.

That last line is fascinating:
“All things are absolute; those which are not will be once they are outside of time.”
I still say this is great stuff.
